I believe in social change through community psychology, documentary filmmaking and the arts.

A passion for change.

I lead transformational programs that strengthen communities by amplifying their voices.

I began my journey in social impact over ten years ago. I bring a unique combination of creativity and strategy to make a difference in people’s lives. With my work I aim to strengthen communities, celebrate diversity and create inclusive environments. My approach also focuses on nurturing growth, understanding and connection, given that the sense of community is essential to create lasting change. Together, we can implement bold ideas and build inspiring realities.

How my work creates impact.

  • Community Psychology is the corner stone of my approach, a field where empathy meets action. My path has been focused on understanding diverse narratives and fostering resilience within communities.

By bringing psychoanalytic insights together with hands-on community engagement, I’ve developed programs that not only address immediate needs, but also empower people to take an active role in building their own realities.

I believe that this holistic approach creates mental health support that goes beyond treatment and weaves into the fabric of community life to create sustainable and positive outcomes.

  • Creativity and strategic planning are what set my Program Development skills apart. I have designed and managed numerous initiatives, where I’ve focused on creating programs that resonate with community needs while ensuring measurable impact.

I’ve had the fulfillment of guiding a 5-month long capacity building experience for hundreds of non-profits during Give Miami Day. This way having an active role in successfully fundraising $34 million in a single week.

By balancing innovation and practicality, I ensure that each program I develop not only reaches its goals but also leaves a lasting, positive imprint on the community.

  • Documentary Filmmaking has been my main tool for social change. This is an area where I can blend my personal artistry with advocacy, turning untold stories into powerful visual narratives that challenge perceptions and inspire action. With this work I intentionally seek to build bridges of empathy and understanding. I firmly believe that documentaries have the power of transforming viewer’s insights and fostering deep connections with the subjects and themes explored.

Bridging psychology and the arts for social change

A University of Costa Rica psychology graduate with a multifaceted career spanning research, community mental health, and social activism, all fueled by a deep passion for documentary filmmaking.

My journey has seen me produce documentaries on a wide array of topics – from social and environmental issues to historical, psychological, and cultural narratives. This includes serving as the director of photography for Musitica, capturing the essence of major orchestras across Costa Rica. Currently, I'm pioneering a community cinema method, blending psychodramatic tools with critical social analysis, inspired by the Psychology of Liberation. In Miami, I've focused on psychosocial rehabilitation, using media-based recovery programs to aid adults with disruptive mental health conditions. As a Special Projects Manager, I research, design, and implement projects to foster social impact, extending my expertise to educational and artistic initiatives for various demographics, especially in rural and vulnerable communities. My belief is steadfast: art has a profound healing power, and critical, constructive education can transform society.
